From 8 to 13 November London Pulp Week 2026: the Symposium at the heart of the week
From 8 to 13 November 2026, London will host London Pulp Week, a key gathering for the international pulp industry. The week brings together buyers, sellers and industry professionals for private meetings and established events, notably the London Pulp Week Symposium and the BWPA Annual Pulp Dinner.
The Symposium on 12 November
The central event is the London Pulp Week Symposium, organised by Hawkins Wright in association with the British & World Pulp Association (BWPA). It will take place on the morning of Thursday 12 November at IET London, 2 Savoy Place.
The programme will address key issues shaping the global pulp market. Topics include China’s rise in technological influence, pulp and paper investment in the wider commodities context, the impact of climate change on fibre availability and the outlook for market pulp.
Speakers include James Kynge, journalist and author specialising in China; Marcio Farid of Goldman Sachs; Robert A. Taylor of UPM Fibres; Tomas Höglund of Valmet; Felix Grünewald and Kedar Naik of McKinsey & Company; and Oliver Lansdell of Hawkins Wright. Tom Wright, managing director of Hawkins Wright, and Ari Borg, president of the BWPA, will open the proceedings.
The programme also features a session on artificial intelligence as a performance lever for the pulp and paper industry, alongside an assessment of market pulp prospects. The morning session will conclude with a buffet lunch.
The full agenda and speaker details are available on the official Symposium website.
A new seminar on 10 November
The 2026 programme also introduces a new Hawkins Wright seminar on Tuesday 10 November at the Royal Horse Guards Hotel. Entitled “Outlook for Dissolving Pulp, with Fluff Pulp Market Insights”, the event will examine developments in the dissolving pulp and fluff pulp markets. Topics include supply and demand, production costs, trade dynamics and fibre substitution. A live online broadcast will also be available.
The BWPA Annual Pulp Dinner
On the evening of 12 November, the 110th BWPA Annual Pulp Dinner will take place in the Ballroom at The Savoy Hotel. First held in 1896, the dinner is a long-standing industry tradition and is expected to welcome around 250 guests from across the international pulp value chain.
The dinner is organised independently of the Symposium, so each event requires separate registration. Black tie is mandatory. Together, the Symposium and the dinner are the highlights of London Pulp Week, providing opportunities for buyers and sellers to meet and strengthen industry relationships.
Further information about the week and the annual dinner is available from the British & World Pulp Association.
